Pax Autocratica Soldier Hunger and Food Guide

Fix soldier hunger by tracing raw materials, Kitchen production, transport, Food Hall access, staffing, and usable stock without inventing consumption rates.

When soldiers stay hungry, trace the whole food chain: raw materials, Kitchen production, transport, delivery to the Food Hall or consumable stock, and enough opportunity for soldiers to eat.

Follow the food chain in order

Official material identifies food and supplies as core colony products. The developer also explains that gathering, production, and food generation were automated so a colony could continue during longer expeditions.

That does not mean food bypasses logistics. The evidence-backed chain is:

raw-material source → Kitchen → transport → Food Hall or consumable inventory → soldier eating

Start at the left and move right. A finished item somewhere in the colony is not proof that it reached a place soldiers can use. Likewise, an empty Kitchen input does not prove that the raw material is absent from every building; it may be waiting on transport.

Check why Kitchen output is not solving hunger

If the Kitchen is producing while hunger remains, inspect downstream delivery:

  • Is finished food leaving the Kitchen or its output area?
  • Is an appropriate transport worker available?
  • Is the route to the Food Hall or usable inventory passable?
  • Has the food arrived at the actual service or consumption point?
  • Does observed hunger improve when soldiers have a chance to eat?

These questions avoid two unsupported assumptions: that production equals delivery and that delivery instantly equals consumption. The supplied evidence supports observing whether hunger falls, but it does not specify a universal eating schedule.

If the Kitchen has stopped, move upstream. Confirm the intended recipe and production mode, then inspect raw materials, worker availability, output space, and transport. The automatic restocking guide explains Order, Stock, and Auto without conflating them with hauling.

Keep food transport staffed during expeditions

An expedition takes selected soldiers away from colony jobs. Before departure, make sure the squad does not include every worker responsible for gathering food inputs, cooking, or moving finished food.

There is no official universal staffing ratio in the supplied research. The reliable check is functional: with the chosen squad absent, can the raw-material, Kitchen, transport, and Food Hall chain still operate?

The Resource Transport Station guide explains the official role of assigned soldiers in moving material from resource buildings and the upgraded route to the Warehouse. That mechanism solves hauling, not production or consumption.

Use Stock and Auto without confusing their purpose

Official production modes express different goals. Stock maintains inventory above a chosen threshold. Auto repeats production while materials remain available and resumes after missing inputs return. Neither proves that finished food has reached the Food Hall.

For a reserve, Stock gives the system a threshold to maintain. The supplied evidence does not provide a correct threshold for every population, so observe the colony and revise it. Auto can keep production going, but it may also expose an upstream shortage or downstream transport blockage.

Do not publish a fixed food formula from this evidence. Recipe costs and production times have changed in Prologue updates, which is a direct reason to treat old values as build-sensitive.

Test the colony before adding population

Community base-management research connects population growth with additional pressure on food, housing, wages, and work. Before recruiting or converting more people, observe whether usable food remains available while the current colony and expedition staffing are active.

This is a pressure test, not a numeric forecast. Watch the chain across normal colony work and an expedition departure. If the buffer disappears or hunger rises, identify whether raw materials, Kitchen work, transport, or access changed.

The beginner guide uses the same one-chain-at-a-time diagnostic method. It is deliberately cautious because the sources do not establish a permanent consumption curve.

Keep the answer build-sensitive

Kitchen, Food Hall, Warehouse, Resource Transport Station, Order, Stock, and Auto are supported names in the canonical research. Exact recipes, research time, production time, inventory quantities, meal schedules, and per-soldier consumption are not established as permanent current-build facts.

If the chain still fails after the observable checks, use the active build and official update stream to verify the current recipe and interface. Do not substitute an old Demo value or an invented rate.
